Coupons are seller-funded codes that discount your own eligible products in the buyer's cart and checkout.
Before you start
- You need product write access in the Space to manage coupons.
- A coupon discounts only your products: scope it to all your products or to one specific product.
- Decide the discount type up front: a percentage off (capped at 100%) or a fixed amount off.
Create a coupon
- Open Settings > Storefront > Coupons.
- In New coupon, enter a code (for example SUMMER20) and choose Percent or Fixed with the discount value.
- Optionally set a usage cap, an expiry date, a minimum eligible subtotal, and the product scope (all your products or one product).
- Select Create. The coupon starts active immediately.
Manage existing coupons
- Use the coupons table to see each code's status, discount, usage count against its cap, and expiry.
- From a coupon's row menu, Pause it to stop redemptions, Activate it again, or Delete it permanently; the eye icon previews its full details.
- Select several coupons with the checkboxes to activate, pause, or delete them in bulk; rows already in the target state are skipped.
How buyers redeem a coupon
- Share the code with your buyers.
- Buyers enter it in the coupon field in their cart and select Apply; the discount shows in the cart and checkout summary.
- Redemption fails when the code is paused, expired, over its usage cap, or the cart's eligible subtotal is below the coupon minimum.
Expected result
The coupon appears in your coupons table as active, buyers who apply the code see the discount on your eligible products, and the usage count increases with each redemption until any cap is reached.
Troubleshooting
- If creation fails with a validation message, add a valid code and a discount value greater than zero.
- If a buyer says the code does not work, check the coupon is active, not expired, under its usage cap, and that their cart meets the minimum eligible subtotal.
- If a bulk action reports skipped coupons, those were already active or paused; this is expected.
- If a discount applies to the wrong items, review the product scope; "All my products" covers every eligible product you sell.
